California Environmental Voters Endorses Gil Cisneros for Congress

Former Los Angeles County Congressmember Cisneros Has Been A Champion For Environmental Protection

Covina, CA – Today, the California Environmental Voters endorsed Gil Cisneros in his campaign for California’s 31st Congressional District. Cisneros was recently the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness and a Los Angeles County Congressmember. California Environmental Voters (EnviroVoters) is renowned for its dedication to promoting environmental causes and sustainable policies. In their mission to protect the air, land, water, and the future, they organize voters, elect and train climate champion candidates, push climate solutions to the forefront of public discourse, and hold lawmakers accountable to take bold policy action.

“California Environmental Voters is proud to support Gil Cisneros in his campaign for the 31st Congressional District,” said Matt Abularach-Macias, Deputy Campaigns Director for EnviroVoters. “As a Congressman Gil had shown a strong understanding of the urgent need to address climate change, so he prioritized environmental protection and sustainable policies. His passion for protecting and providing access to our great American outdoors, improving our air and water quality, and advancing environmental justice make him a strong choice for voters in the district. As his opponent Susan Rubio continues to take checks from Big Oil, we know we can count on Gil to stick with California’s values of standing up to corporate polluters. That’s because Gil recognizes bold and immediate action to combat the climate crisis will also foster economic growth and create green jobs for our communities. We need Gil back on the Hill!”

Throughout his career, Gil Cisneros has consistently demonstrated his passion for preserving California’s natural beauty, safeguarding our precious resources, and advocating for policies that effectively combat climate change. His track record in Congress reflects his commitment to promoting renewable energy, supporting clean water initiatives, and preserving our state’s diverse ecosystems. His support of major climate legislation has earned him a 98% score from the League of Conservation Voters from 2019 – 2020, and a 100% each from the National Parks Conservation Association and Clean Water Action.

Cisneros’s Congressional campaign is endorsed by 15 Members of Congress, as well as several labor unions, Party leaders, and local elected officials in CA-31. Cisneros was previously endorsed in his past campaigns for Congress by the Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters, Democratic Conservation Alliance, and Council for a Livable World PAC.
